UPDATE: (from the RMP Facebook page)
Rockyview Motorsports Park was overwhelmed by the support shown by individuals and groups speaking in favour of the project at the January 27, 2015 public hearing and want to thank each of these people for taking the time to support the project. Unfortunately RVC Council rejected our application.
At this point we will be taking some time to consider alternative next steps.
All Alberta motorsport enthusiasts … book a vacation day, phone in sick, whatever it takes to get there 🙂
From the Rockyview Motorsports Park website:
PUBLIC HEARING DATE SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 27, 2015
A public hearing date of January 27, 2015 at 1:30 pm has been scheduled to consider RMP’s Master Site Development Plan and Land Use Application. The hearing will take place in the Council Chambers at the Rocky View Munical Building (911 32 Ave NE). RMP is excited about this milestone in the project and the opportunity to present the many benefits of our project. We are very proud of the process leading up to the hearing in which we engaged heavily with neighbours, getting to know their concerns and presenting constructive solutions through amendments to our original plan. A summary of these concerns/solutions can be found in our Neighbour Key Concerns Brief (January 2015), and we also encourage those interested to review our Master Site Development Plan – Public Hearing Draft (December 15, 2014).
The Public Hearing is a great opportunity for individuals who support the idea of a world class road course and a driver training academy that will create safer streets and save lives to speak in favour of RMP’s proposal. Hearing directly from supporters is certainly important part of the Council decision making process. All interested individuals will have the opportunity to speak for up to 5 minutes and register upon arrival at the Municipal Building
