Kart Racing is popular for both young and previously young racers – and the only track racing currently available in Calgary!  The Calgary Kart Racing Club (CKRC) has a well run series of race weekends.  Check them out for some good racing.

We have had a number of requests recently for Karting gear including approved suits, gloves and shoes as well as the other safety equipment like helmets, rib protectors and neck collars.  Contact us for any Kart Racing gear.

Here is a few photos from the Spring Thaw (April 29, 2012) – usually the first major car event of the year.  Held at the end of April each year for about 20 years.  This year there was a couple hundred cars of all kinds, from antiques, hotrods, race cars and a few exotics.

A really nice vintage racer from the Alberta Auto Racing Association – raced from 1951 to 1954 and restored in 1980.

Here is a Vintage Drag Racer – runs low 8 second 1/4 mile.  Garth just bought a HANS Device – hope he never really needs to use it!

Turbo anyone!  A couple of these ‘Rat Rods’ gathered a lot of fans!

Northern Alberta Sports Car Club (NASCC) has a 2-day Ice Racing weekend at Rob’s lake just west of Edmonton. Marshals always welcome!

Lethbridge Sports Car Club (LSCC) has a Rallycross on Sunday the 29th.

Southern Alberta Solo Club (SASC) is doing a series of Winter and Ice Driving Schools on Ghost Lake, west of Cochrane.

#1 Guess this has to be my favorite as it won a Calgary Tourism photo contest for sporting events!

#2 DirtCup Rallycross at Race City showing lots of gravel flying,

#3 Autoslalom at Deerfoot Mall, Calgary – I like the angle of this shot as well as the closeness of the racing line!

#4 Jet Boat Racing – World Championships in Northern Alberta! The first time I’ve seen jet Boats, 120 mph+ on the river is impressive. One customer bought a HANS device before this event Unfortunately my camera failed in the rain so only got a few shots of the preliminary classes.

#5 Rocky Mountain Rally – worst weather conditions EVER but some cool water shots
