HANS Device Sport II

PRI – The Performance Racing Industry association held their annual trade show this past weekend.  We were fortunate to attend again to see over 1000 exhibitors in over 3000 booths!

There was a lot of really good racing products from engine parts of all kinds, all the safety equipment, hi-tech data logging and video, team wear and even shop equipment and haulers.

An amazing 3 days!

Some new products from our current suppliers include the SA2010 helmets, HANS are introducing the ‘Sport II’ in the new year (slightly lighter and a shorter back for easier exit from tight cockpit cars) and GoPro had a display of a new 3D GoPro system.

We made a number of new contacts and are currently working on programs for several new product lines.

Atlanta, GA (January 12, 2010) – HANS Performance Products is giving away customized tire clocks to their Facebook and Twitter followers as part of a social media promotion.

HANS is asking that owners take pictures of their HANS Devices in fun, unusual settings and e-mail them to marketing@hansdevice.com.  In exchange, they’ll receive a HANS customized 14” tire clock and their photo will appear on HANS’ Twitter and Facebook pages.

Marketing Manager Andrea Walker said, “We’re excited to launch this new promotion and have some fun.” She continued, “Safety is a concern that we all take very seriously so we’re looking forward to seeing what different settings our customers can create.”

The promotion will last year long and each month will offer a different setting for HANS Devices to be posed in. Walker said, “The HANS Device is used in many racing applications all over the world and it’ll be interesting to see all the photos we receive.”

Atlanta, Georgia (April 22, 2009) – World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb says the HANS Device has been the most significant safety feature introduced in WRC during the past 10 years.

Speaking recently, Loeb stated that out of all the safety improvements that have been made in WRC, the HANS Device was his favorite innovation. “The most important safety improvement to me is HANS.” He added, “Nowadays I don’t think about wearing it but if I drive without it I feel strange – I feel loose.”

FIA WRC racer, Bernardo Sousa, validated the truth of Loeb’s position when he walked away from a 75 mph (120 kph) crash that destroyed his FIAT Abarth Grande Punto during April’s Rally Portugal.

Vojtecha Stajf also paid testament to the safety a HANS Device can provide when he survived a 90+mph (150 kph) crash that shredded his Subaru Impreza WRX STi during this month’s European Rally Cups Race in the Czech Republic. Stajf said that his HANS Device and the rigidity of the roll cage saved him from serious or fatal injury.

Both driver Jari-Matti Latvala and codriver walked away, a testament to the safety systems in a modern world rally car.  Not everyone can have all the gear of a top level team, but you should consider the best you can possibly afford – just because you never know!

HANS Performance Products is releasing two new accessory products for the HANS Device. The products include the LW2 lightweight anchors and the Quick Click anchors. The release of the LW2 anchors allows an even lower price for the HANS Device.

The new LW2 anchors are available with either the standard Vision Advantage fixed length tethers or the very popular Vision Advantage PLUS™ sliding tether. The device tether is not removable as it is permanently attached to the LW2 anchor. The list price for the Sport Series HANS Device with the new LW2 anchors is US$645. The remaining Extra Series HANS Devices are US$895 and the Professional Series HANS Devices are US$995. Youth sizes are even less expensive with the Model 20SSS being US$545 and US$895 for the new Model 20SSP. All remaining stock of the Model 20SSE (old 20XSE) is US$745.

The new Quick Click anchor system brings the popular Vision Advantage PLUS sliding tether system to those racers wanting a quick disconnect feature for the HANS Device. The new Quick Click anchor system is available with any HANS Device. Pricing for the HANS Device with the new Quick Click anchor system is US$695 for the Sport Series and US$1,045 for the Professional Series. All remaining stock of the Extra Series with the Quick Click anchors is US$895. The original Quick Disconnect fixed-length tether system is being discontinued and will be available by special order only.

These enhancements are in addition to the announcement of the reduced price Professional Series devices.
